Renew or replace a licence
To streamline processes for the Victorian electrical industry, Energy Safe Victoria has consolidated its paper-based application systems onto a new online service.
Registered / licensed users can apply and maintain electrical licences and registrations, via ESVConnect. This is the new easy-to-use online system for electrical licensing, registration, purchasing and managing Certificates of Electrical Safety and Cathodic protection systems.
Renewing your licence
If you currently hold a licence or registration with Energy Safe Victoria you would be registered with Energy Safe Victoria’s Online Services you will be required to upgrade your account via the ESVConnect portal.
Please ensure you log in with your electrical licence user id and password initially. Once your account has been upgraded all your licence associations should appear under your profile. If this does not occur, please contact the licensing team for assistance.
Electrical licence fees
ESV’s application and electrical licence renewal fees are reviewed and set by the Department of Treasury and Finance ahead of each financial year.
Replace a licence card
If your licence card has been lost or stolen, ESV will issue a free replacement card.
Identity theft is a serious offence.
If your card was stolen, it is advisable to report these circumstances to the police, as it could be used to steal your identity and cause injury to your professional reputation.
What to do for a replacement card
Please log into the ESVConnect portal with your email ID and password, then select ‘Replace licence card’ under the licence or registration profile. Once you have lodged your request it will be attended to, and a new card will be sent in the mail.
