Controls on the conversion of a Type A appliance
The conversion of a Type A appliance from one gas type to another will present gas safety risks, which must be managed effectively. These risks will vary according to the way that conversion is carried out and may be managed by a number of means as appropriate to the circumstances. Manufacturer supplied conversion kits and instructions must be used when available.
The following table provides for most situations.

Notes:
- Appliances converted at supplier’s premises or at customer’s premises must be tested with appropriate gas to verify gas-tightness, correct turn-down and safe operations.
- Appliances may be converted only to a gas allowed under its certification (AGA, SAI Global, IAPMO, Global-Mark and Vipac will advise on request), unless
